about

Is your beloved dog struggling with chronic health issues that just won't go away? Are you tired of trying different treatments that only provide temporary relief, while the underlying problems persist? Do you worry about the long-term effects of feeding your dog processed, inflammatory foods?

Recent studies have shown that processed dog foods can contribute to a wide range of health issues, from digestive problems to skin allergies and even cancer. In fact, a 2023 study by Front Vet Sci. found that dogs fed a whole food diet had a significantly lower ratio of TNF-α (a pro-inflammatory cytokine) to IL-10 (an anti-inflammatory cytokine) compared to when they were fed the extruded dry diet. This suggests a potential anti-inflammatory effect of the whole food diet. Or in other words, the production of IL-8, which helps in immune response mobilization, was higher in dogs when they were on the whole food diet compared to the extruded dry diet.

The longer you wait to address these issues, the more your dog will suffer. Chronic inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, and a weakened immune system can lead to a decreased quality of life and even shortened lifespan. Your dog deserves better than that.

You want the best for your pet, right? You want to see them thriving, with a shiny coat, boundless energy, and a healthy, happy life. That's exactly what the TCVM Food Therapy Masterclass is designed to help you achieve.

As a relative newcomer, I was surprised how much I gained from the talks I chose to watch. I have used raw very sparingly so far and avoided chicken wings because of the small bones, but now I can try them. I was pleased with the information on fruit, veg, nuts and seeds, yoghurt, kefir, the latter two I use for lollies. I’ve used them a bit, but now I can be far more adventurous. There is growing concern that a steady rise in cancer in young to middle aged humans may be related to increasing ultra-processed food consumption, though not yet proven, so the messages for cat and dog owners were similarly appropriate.

All cat and dog owners, including prospective ones, who have an interest in best practice. While some talks slightly contradict others, they provide an excellent basis for making your own mind up instead of a single ex-cathedral message.

I am so thankful that my dog has led me down this path of holistic wellness. I have learned so much and continue learning daily. The Holistic Dog Care Summit is the perfect place for all levels on this journey. We can never know too much and it's great to continue research and learning. It is so great to feel such a sense of community with this summit. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to be doing this alone and feeling unheard with others. This summit helps to empower pet parents everywhere and become their animals advocates. I think that is the most important thing. It can be hard to speak up at times but it is so necessary when it comes to our pets or even our own wellness. Another important lesson is continuing our own research and learning. Yes it's great to have a holistic vet, but it's really up to us pet parents to stay up to date and in tune with our animals. This also teaches us how to better care for ourselves which can be hard at times. Anyone and everyone can benefit from this summit. Everyone knows someone who has a pet or may be thinking of adopting a pet. Many of us have lost our pets and want to know more before getting another. Even anyone in the animal care world. Dog sitters, doggie daycares, groomers, shelters, rescues, and even vets! It's important for everyone!

The two presentations that I watched on the first day were both excellent, with very clear and informative presenters who were enthusiastic about their topics. They both gave resource suggestions for reliable information online too. All owners of dogs and cats, whether young pets or mature ones, can learn from these presenters. The material is basic enough for first time pet parents, but long-time owners can refresh their knowledge too.

Edward did an excellent job of interviewing a wide range of interesting and highly skilled experts. I learned a lot of new things that I wasn't aware of. From tuning into this summit, I appreciate having a broader understanding of anxiety in my dogs, in particular how to recognise it and I have learned some strategies to ease their anxiety and be more aware of my own.

Anyone who has dogs, wants to be better pet parents, is considering getting a dog or dog professionals who want to enhance their skills and professional expertise.
